Math - fractions, decimals & percents
10-15-2008 In math we are learning about fractions and have been using fraction strips to measure items and record their length/width in fractions (symbolic form). The students were to bring in an item from home that was longer then a fraction strip and record its length and an item that was shorter than a fraction strip and record its length. They then made a poster with their team showing the lengths of the items that everyone brought. We will next work on comparing the fractions by putting them on a number line from the least to the greatest.
Math - Multiplication facts
We are now going to be studying fractions, decimals and percents (pictures above). Each student also has a math learning log in their binder. They use this to take notes during class. These notes also help them on quizzes and while doing their homework. This log is graded.
